The Journey

Normally I would not share so much BUT because I am probably a good example of all of us I feel this might help some. I had a normal teenage life that continued most of my adult life. Parties, pizza, McDonalds,Soda and also smoking 2 packs a day. Felt great and unknowingly was destroying my health. A great deal of health problems aren't apparent until it's too late. I fell for the marketing, 'Heart Healthy' 'Lo-Fat', 'Natural Flavors' and all the hype. Blood pressure was on the rise but my doctor prescribes a few meds and life is good, except I fell into treat care NOT healthcare paradox. Of course the medical profession isn't into cures, why give up the trillions of dollars they make yearly. After all there is no profit in cures.

After years of continued health abuse, increase in meds and finally this burning sensation in my chest, which I thought was asthma later to realize it was angina. I was scheduled for a chemical stress test which results were that I was 97% blocked and lucky to be alive. I might note that I never had a heart attack and it took almost a year for my doctor to convince me to take the test. I was given a second chance with multiple, 4 to be exact, bypasses. What was even scarier I went under the knife on my wifes birthday!

So here is where it gets interesting. I got a new lease on life, heart working like a champ, feel great and WENT RIGHT BACK TO MY LIFESTYLE EXCEPT GAVE UP THE CIGARETES. Still on blood pressure meds just different kinds, that should have been a clue. One thing I did have in my favor though is that everything seemed fine on my annual exams.

UNTIL

For the next 12 years my a1c was creeping up but no one seemed to be concerned until the test that had my a1c at 7.1. Then the letter came, my doctor wanted me to come in and discuss going on metformin. Well since I had a week or so, I started researching diabetes and metformin and decided hell no, I was going to fix this myself. That is when my journey really began, at 78 I was going to try and fix what no doctor said was possible. But what all the research showed was that I was totally curable if I had the will power and self control. I learned about diabetes, high blood pressure and almost everything about blood work tests.

My A1C and LDL were both high and my kidney comment was a 60, just 1 point better that type 1 kidney disease. Now you can't look at a few tests and start prescribing, you need to look at the total picture. The total picture was Overweight and terrible lifestyle, plus a few other blood work tests that are never given unless asked for. After getting the tests I needed I knew the direction I needed to go in. After just over a year of a new lifestyle, I am 102lbs lighter, A1C of 5.2, no more diabetes and feel better today then when I was in my 20's. My cholesterol is great my kidneys are now 89, 1 point under perfect and my blood pressure is 120/68 and I am only taking 1/4 of the BP meds I was on and within 6 months I should be dropping that also. I am no longer falling for treat care and my doctors are actually very receptive since they are seeing results. I went back through all my blood work tests for 7 years prior to my heart surgery and from then to current. What is terrible is that this could have been caught sooner if the blood work was looked at better. Problem is that before your blood work is flagged it has to exceed the current number indicated as high. That being said that number keeps changing because it is based on what the average public is at. Since there are 27million with diabetes and 115million that don't even know they are prediabetic.

Up until I made my change 2 years ago my blood work was horrible but a year ago after making my change, blood work was changing for the better and NOW today it is almost optimal.

This is why I want to share my plan with you, free of charge, so that I can help others accomplish what I have. It was much easier than I thought so I guess the next move is up to you.
